Testing THC & CBD
Transdermal Products

Transdermal Patches are growing in popularity as a preferred alternative to smoking or ingesting, due to their superior dosing control, slower release and increased bioavailability. This is especially true for patients who do not want to smoke or ingest the products. That’s why it’s so important for brands to understand exactly what concentration of healing ingredients their transdermal patches contain.

01.

Potency Verification
ACS tests hemp and cannabis transdermal patches for ingredient potency. That includes 23 cannabinoids such as THC, CBD, CBN and levels of CBG, along with 38 terpenes and 16 flavonoids.

We guarantee your transdermal patches are accurately tested.

02.

Contaminant Testing
ACS tests transdermal patches to ensure they are free from harmful toxins and safe to absorb onto the skin.

We offer a la carte or comprehensive full panel safety testing.

Our methods deliver reliable, consistent results.

03.

Compliance & Beyond
ACS is an award-winning laboratory for testing proficiency.

We are a DEA-licensed, ISO/IEC 17025:2017 Accredited by A2LA #6786.01 facility, and fully compliant. But we don’t stop there.

We go beyond compliance to make sure your product is retail-ready.

How accurate are the results?

ACS is rated in the top 5% in the U.S. for hemp and cannabis testing. Our methods are proven and we guarantee precision. Before testing transdermal patches for potency, we meticulously extract the delicate cannabinoids from the solution. Then we determine potency through High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) using a UV wavelength detector to identify major and minor cannabinoids. This method delivers accurate results, and we have the awards to prove it. In the last four years, ACS received 82 badges for accuracy and consistency from the Emerald Test, a nationwide Inter-Laboratory Comparison test.

Contaminant testing of transdermal patches

ACS tests transdermal patches for pesticides and contaminants that could be dangerous upon contact and penetration through the skin. We know the most common toxins and the maximum levels for each that are safe for human use. We accurately test all THC and CBD transdermal patches.

Compliance & Beyond

Classification of solvents by risk

At ACS, we test hemp and cannabis transdermal patches to identify potential sources of contamination that can compromise human health and prevent your ability to legally sell your product. But we don’t stop there.

Beyond Compliance

At ACS Laboratory, we tailor our testing approach to the particular product on hand. In addition to cannabinoid potency and safety testing, we also recommend the following tests for transdermal patches.
01.
Terpene Testing
Terpenes are aromatic organic compounds that work with cannabinoids to produce the overall therapeutic effect. When brands know what terpenes their product contains along with the corresponding concentration levels, they can educate consumers on the product’s unique benefits.
02.
Flavonoid Testing
Flavonoids are responsible for bright, non-green pigments in cannabis that also synergistically produce an array of therapeutic benefits. ACS is one of the only laboratories capable of testing these compounds, which can give brands a key advantage in marketing their products.
03.
Shelf-Life Testing & Stability
Shelf life & stability determines the ideal number of days the product remains stable based on recommended storage conditions. While shelf-life testing is not legally required, customers look at product labels to determine best-usage instructions. This includes how long their products can maintain optimal potency before degrading.
