Roger Brown
President
A pioneer in the cannabis testing space, Roger Brown co-founded the first cannabis testing laboratory in Florida ― ACS Laboratory ― in 2008. Today, ACS is the largest cannabis and CBD/hemp third-party testing and compliance laboratory in the Eastern U.S. Utilizing its vast experience in high complexity laboratory tests, ACS developed proprietary testing methods for cannabis, hemp and all derivatives.
Under Brown’s leadership, ACS received 21 coveted Emerald Test™ Badges in 2019, the most of any laboratory in the entire U.S. These test badges compare cannabis laboratories’ ability to deliver reliable results, using standards established in the environmental, food, pharmaceutical, water and petrochemical industries.
In spring 2020, under Brown’s direction, ACS acquired Botanica Testing, Inc., a certified hemp and CBD testing laboratory, which added 500 new hemp and CBD clients to its existing, and rapidly growing, portfolio. This acquisition increased ACS’s customer reach to 44 states throughout the U.S.
ACS is ISO/IEC 17025:2017 Accredited by A2LA #6786.01, AHCA-licensed, a CLIA-accredited laboratory and is also DEA-licensed. Its focus is to continue to support and enhance the ability for cannabis companies and brands to deliver clean, safe products, and do so in a manner that promotes positive standards throughout the industry.
Brown is a serial entrepreneur. Prior to founding ACS, he was president of CMB Additives, an animal feed additive manufacturer. In 1996, he founded MD to You, a premier mobile physicians group that sent doctors on house calls throughout Florida, mainly to visit elderly patients at their homes and assisted living facilities.
Prior to that time, he owned or was involved in several medical businesses, and taught surgical procedures domestically and internationally using specialty instrumentation such as laparoscopy and surgical staples.
Brown is a frequent speaker at cannabinoid conferences, an instructor/mentor at the CBD Training Academy, and active in other cannabinoid industry-related groups. He is a board member of the Hemp Industries Association of Florida, which is focused on supporting the entire hemp supply chain to ensure the commercialization of hemp in Florida reaches its full potential.
Brown holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Florida. A resident of Highland Beach, FL, he enjoys skiing, cycling and boating in his free time.
